Location

Sanur

Our shrine is the ocean. Our shala is surrounded by a rich and very active local community, with a large temple and local market close by. Sanur is well-known for its gentle, relaxed atmosphere, lots of cafes and restaurants, and plenty of fun activities such a s kite-surfing, snorkelling and traditional sailing. It’s a very unique part of Bali, due to its clear water of the coral lagoon, together with the white sand beach, coconut palms, and gentle sea breeze.

The roads are safe for cyclists, and pedestrians and the beaches are free from noisy, clubs and bars. The main town is chilled out and filled with a harmonious mix of relaxed tourists, ex-pats, locals and families.

There are still lively activities but also spots in which you can be left alone and at peace. The waves are calm, the beach is pristine & white and for surfers, the breaks are awesome to catch a morning or late afternoon ride. What about the sunsets? They are breathtaking!

If you are truly looking for a place to unwind during your holiday without all that noise and traffic and massive amount of people, Sanur should be your pick. Mass tourism hasn’t gotten its hands on Sanur (and we pray it never will) which leaves everyone, local, expats and tourists alike a lot more calm and a lot more happy.

Shortly after that, I started practising yoga, and during this process rediscovered meditation & mantras, which my Indian grandfather taught me when I was young. Since then my practice has continued to evolve. I particularly love acro yoga, vinyasa and thai massage. I enjoy connecting with people, and continue to value the space that yoga creates to be present, sitting still with myself and dive deep into the mind and breath.

After living abroad for over 20 years and travelling to a different corner of the world, I quit my job at the Indonesian Embassy in Ecuador and steped outside my comfort zone to continue my journey to deepen the knowledge and practise of yoga in Rishikesh, India.
