Traveling by Plane
There is no direct plane landing on Koh Phangan. The easiest way to get from Bangkok to Koh Phangan is to fly from Bangkok to the neighboring island called Koh Samui. Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways are the only airlines that currently operate on this route.

Traveling by Boat
We recommend two ferries that go to Koh Phangan from Samui.
1. Haad Rin Queen Ferry (Big Buddha Pier-Samui)
From Koh Samui airport, you’ll need to take a taxi to the Big Buddha Pier. The ferry ride is approximately 45minute.
- Ferry departures schedule: (Big Buddha Pier to Haad Rin Pier)
- 10:30 am
- 1:00 pm
- 4:00 pm
- 6:30 pm
For more information, go to the Haad Rin Queen Ferry website: Haad Rin Queen Ferry Website
Once you arrive in Haad Rin, you may take either a taxi boat (10 minute) or by truck (45 minute) to Haad Tien Bay. Depending on the weather, the taxi boats may not operate due to large waves. In that case, your only option is by truck. Price varies depending on the number of passengers. You can try your best to bargain. Generally, it should cost max 500 baht if you’re traveling with other passengers. If by chance, you’re the only one, it may cost you as much as 3000++baht for a single trip.
2. Tong Nai Pan Ferry
Depending on the weather, Tong Nai Pan Ferry serves a direct route from Koh Samui to Haad Tien where we are located.
Route: Mae Nam Pier (Koh Samui) to Thong Nai Pan (Koh Phangan). *Haad Tien Bay is one of the stops on the way. Time: 12pm Price: 350baht

Traveling by Train
This is a much cheaper alternate from flying. However, the journey can be quite rough and long. We only recommend traveling this way if you’re on a tight budget or really up for an adventure! Simply take a train from Bangkok to Surat Thani.
On arrival at Surat Thani railway station, shuttle bus meets the train and takes you to the Don Sak ferry terminal. The bus is included if you’ve purchased the train+ferry fare. Ferries sail every hour from Don Sak to Koh Samui, crossing time 1.5 hours. Some ferries continue to Koh Phangan. You can buy the combined train+ferry tickets at Bangkok Hualamphong station reservations office, or online for a small handling fee.
