Become a yoga teacher and share your passion with the world. Spend 200 hours over 28 days immersed in self-love and tribe. Transform to your authentic self in a like-minded community with this foundation level certification training.
Our signature Yoga Teacher Training begins with a strong physical foundation, evolving into energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual practice. Key concepts and rules of yoga are taught, allowing the teachers and dedicated practitioners to gain in-depth understanding, knowledge and insight into the methodology and the effects of yoga practice. Our approach encourages integration with society in a modern context.
Our modules each represent a pillar of the Vikasa Yoga Method, mind body and energy. These three pillars, when taught together, create a well-rounded yoga education with emphasis on the development of the individual. This unique schedule has been tried and tested over the years, ever-evolving with lasting results. Our approach is further defined by the 5 shells or layers known as “koshas” physical, energetic, emotional, mental and spiritual.

Kosta Miachin was born in the Soviet Union, raised in Latvia and then Canada. He has led a life full of travel and transformation. Kosta’s journey into yoga has taken him across the globe; from remote Himalayan ashrams, healing camps in India, to his initiation by a master monk in a sacred Sak-Yant ceremony in Thailand. But it was the little island of Koh Samui that he eventually called home – opening the VIKASA Yoga Retreat on 11.11.11. For the best part of a decade, Kosta has overseen the rise of what has become a cosmopolitan hub for yogis worldwide.
While initially drawn to the physical aspects of yoga, Michael remains stimulated by the interplay between the physical practice and the more spiritual, inner-journey that can be opened up by the physical practice. In pursuit of this interplay, Michael teaches correct alignment and intuitive movement and also facilitates discussions and lectures on emotional intelligence and personal development.
All certified trainings at Vikasa are recognized by the global benchmark of quality- the Yoga Alliance.
Vikasa is located on Koh Samui, a beautiful tropical island located in the Gulf of Thailand. It is approximately 90 minutes from the mainland via ferry, but is easily accessible via airplane. We are in the south east corner of the island, in between Chaweng Noi and Lamai, only a 20 minute drive from Koh Samui International Airport (USM) and a 35 minute drive from the Nathon and Lipa Noi ferry terminals. It’s a quiet area on the island with beaches nearby, yet guests generally stay on the Vikasa premises or rent scooters or taxis for trips to nearby markets and shopping malls. The weather is generally hot year round, with temperatures often around 30 degrees celsius
