Course Overview

The Yoga People have structured a system of 4 programs (combined as a 300 hr course), featuring internationally renowned teachers. The intention of this advanced training is to present a system which integrates effective and intelligent sequencing.

Designed for the experienced practitioner, this course offers what we ourselves love and practice, including: Rocket Yoga, Yin Yoga, Tripsichore and Yogic Arts.

To date more than 900 students have become certified on their accredited programs at the 200 Hour and 500 Hour levels. They are committed to developing the most excellent and insightful teachers, offering a holistic approach to learning while nurturing their students’ personal development.

Yoga Alliance Accreditation RYT 500

Graduates of this course can register 300 hours Continuing Education (CE) with Yoga Alliance. CE is required to maintain your status as a Registered Yoga Teacher. After successful completion, student is eligible to apply for the RYT 500 registration.

Module 1: Rocket Yoga Training

Course Details

The Rocket system is designed to wake up the nervous system with the upbeat tempo, arm balance inversions and fluid transitions. The sequences develop strength, openness, progression and freedom. As with traditional Ashtanga, Rocket uses the foundation of Ujjayi breath control and the engagement of bandhas as well as a steadiness of gaze and a serpentine vinyasa flow. The practice still holds the intelligence and therapeutic nature of the original format yet also brings variety and an increased creativity, which lifts your practice to new heightened levels.

Program Components

    General program sections and focus areas will include the following:
  • Breathing
  • Forward and backward bends
  • Scripting techniques
  • Adjustments
  • Practice drills
  • 140 Ashtanga postures in the Rocket system sequenced in days of the week.
  • Abdominal strength and control, full body strengthening including hand, wrist, shoulder, and back development.
  • Stacking methods for inversions
  • Drishti (the integration of focus into your practice).

Learning the “Mechanics of Flight”

Learning to fly is made possible by combining multiple aspects, that when put together allow you to move and maintain a sense of levitation or flight in your practice. Practicing “light” is the ability to move fluidly through the vinyasa, and in sections requiring you to balance on your hands, while your feet are off the ground

    Areas covered include:
  • Weight Transfer into the hands
  • Floating back and forward
  • Inversions and handstands from standing postures
  • Arm balances and inversions from seated positions
  • Creating fluid movement throughout you practice
  • Floating with control vs. ballistics
    Balancing on your hands has many invigorating benefits. Some of the arm balancing and inversion techniques taught will include:
  • Headstands
  • Crow variations & transitions.
  • Elbow stands & Scorpions.
  • “Crazy eight” posture and transitions.
  • Handstands (multiple variations)
  • Peacock posture

Meet the Teachers:

Dulce Aguilar

Dulce(Blue Electric Storm) has been following a path of yoga, self-inquiry and shamanic tradition since she was 23 years old. Her path includes Mayan Astronomy, Chakra Theory, Reiki as well as influences from Rocket, Mandala & Tripsichore in Vinyasa flow as well as Yin Yoga.

Her intention is to create a more balanced version of herself, where she is able to recognize her own shadows in order to have a freer experience in life. Her teachings are guided to encourage a road of self-responsibility where you are able to follow the guru that resides inside your heart.

Jamie Clarke

Jamie Clarke has been practicing and teaching Yoga since 2001 and is particularly inspired by Yoga as a process of therapy, personal development and spiritual growth.

Jamie is a E-RYT 500 teacher and has been directly trained by yoga masters, Larry Shultz- Ashtanga & Rocket Vinyasa, Lino Miele- Traditional Ashtanga, Paul Grilley- Yin Yoga, Edward Clark- Tripsichore.

Jamie´s asana practice and teaching is drawn predominantly from these disciplines, and takes further inspiration from his special interest in yoga anatomy and how this inextricably influences the functional approach to teaching and practicing asana. His own practice and teaching is further rooted in a deep interest all meditation techniques, in particular Tantric Chakra and Buddhist Vipassana practices.

Other teaching influences have come from trainings with masters Richard Freeman, Shiva Rae, David Swenson in Ashtanga and Vinyasa disciplines, David Life in Jivamukti Yoga and Max Strom in breath work. Jamie works closely teacher and training colleague Duncan Wong, and draws inspiration and influence from the martial art techniques of Yogic Arts.

Jamie has extensive training in transpersonal psychotherapy and has worked closely with experienced masters Lois and Alan Pimentel of London in these related fields since 2008.

Jamie holds philosophical interests in Yogic History, Tantra and the Taoist meridian theories of China. He is currently completing a Masters degree in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology at the University of Middlesex, London.

Module 2: Yin Yoga Training

Course Details

On each day of this 10 day course, there will be (2hr) morning sessions, during which we will explore 20 basic Yin poses. The afternoon sessions will focus on Meditation & Pranayama.

The Yin approach will also be integrated and complemented with a Yang practice in order to create more awareness for a safe and balanced practice.

Jamie Clarke

Module 3: Tripsichore Yoga Training

Course Details

This is a fast-track introduction to various aspects of the Tripsichore vinyasa technique and yoga choreography. At the core of this method is a challenging approach to Sun Salutations with its specific use of breath, mind and body integration.

We will experiment with creative uses for vinyasa sequencing, adhering to the rules technique for self-expression and creative exploration, ending with a final presentation. As an added benefit, this technique is spectacular and fun to practice!

Nikki Durrant

Tripsichore Yoga nikki durrant

Nikki Durrant began practicing yoga in 1991. She came to yoga from a disciplined athletic background. Whilst growing up, she was involved in a variety of sports which eventually opened her up to the world of asanas. Nikki’s goal is to achieve ‘wholeness’ of being, through a diligent and disciplined yoga practice.

Duncan Wong

Yoga Arts SenSei Duncan Wong

Master of the Art of Body Movement Integration; Duncan Wong facilitates transformational body­mind­spirit downloads and energy body balancing. He is the originator of the Warrior Flow System, and old skool creator of the Yogic Arts method (established in 1990 / California, USA). Duncan­ grew up as a technical fighter in and out of the ring, and synthesized his passion for Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga with his gift of release point touch therapy through Thai & Shiatsu bodywork.
