5. India

India is a vibrant country with a rich history of yoga and has been enchanting travellers for centuries. When you are there visit holy sites, pamper yourself with healing Ayurvedic treatments and sample some of the country’s finest vegetarian food. The choice for trainings are endless, find a local yoga teacher teaching traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in Mysore, or head down to the golden sands of the coast in Goa or Kerala. Depending on where in India you are going, different parts of the vast country will be experiencing different seasons such as summer, winter or monsoon season, so you may need to adjust what to pack! India’s hottest months in the summer run from March to May, so heading to the National parks, or to the mountains may be a better idea. Winter in India runs from November to February and these months are an ideal time to visit the beaches or the desert states, such as Rajasthan. Monsoon season is from June until October, and being such a vast country not everywhere experiences intense rainfall all at once, so its best to research the area you are planning on visiting if it falls within these months.
